Change Route: M20 East

Part of the same interchange - the previous exit was for dedicated slips to the M20. The next section between here and J5 was the subject of long debate; originally due to open before 1980; it finally opened in February 1986 at a cost of £38.5m. The M25 flies over the M20 on a bridge that was pre-built and left unused for 9 years.
