Old Craighall is the eastern end of the Edinburgh City Bypass, and unless you'd like to battle your way through the centre of this historic city, it is the way from here to all other destinations in Scotland. It is also where the trunk road ends: the rest of the A1 from here to the city centre is a local road, but we'll carry on a little bit longer with green signs, even though the real ones beyond this point are white.
