This notorious junction is the only interruption on the City Bypass, and the cause of most of the problems on this road. There are actually six approaches; not shown here is the A6106 to Dalkeith on the left and to Millerhill on the right.

Plans to add a flyover or underpass here have come and gone. The Scottish Government still want to do it but the scheme is very slow to get off the ground.
