This enormous triangular junction is where the M18 begins its journey towards the A1 and East Yorkshire and, surprisingly, it's also the direction if you're heading for The NORTH. Beyond here the M1 takes a lurch westwards and serves Sheffield and Leeds - it'll still get you to the A1 and the north, but via a slightly longer route.
