If you're just trying to stay on the M1 here, you need to move right in a hurry to avoid being sent to Hull or Manchester.
Lofthouse Interchange is a three-level stacked roundabout junction, but a new sliproad was tunneled underneath that will let you zoom straight through to the M62 westbound from here. It's still congested though, and its bridges - dating from 1967 - are showing signs of structural problems. There are distant plans to replace the whole thing with a new junction, which will be a UK first.
