A gantry structure spanning the motorway with electronic signals, blue signs showing the left two lanes exiting and the other two continuing ahead, and the following text.
Left-hand two lanes destinations: M25 (M11, M1); Dartford Crossing; Stansted [Airport symbol]; Bromley (A21) .
Right-hand two lanes destinations: Dover; Channel Tnl; Maidstone M26 (M20) Hastings, Sevenoaks (A21).
Junction number: 5.
Take care here - the M25 turns a corner at Chevening Interchange and you'll need to be on the left if you're going to continue orbiting. The right hand lanes branch off for the M26 and M20 into Kent.
The unusual junction design is because the M25 wasn't originally meant to turn northwards at this point at all. The next length, from J5 to J3, was one of the last to open in February 1986, bolting this bit of motorway to the Dartford Tunnel's southern approach and closing the loop south of the Thames.
