This is Bell Common Tunnel, one of two cut-and-cover tunnels on the northern side of the M25 that were used to make the motorway less intrusive. Back when the M25 first opened, much was made in excited newspaper reports of the fact that this tunnel has a cricket ground on top of it, so the cricketers of Epping can score runs above the orbital motorway.
