The A1081 used to be the A6, and before the M25 was thought of this junction was laid out for a bright future where the A6 was a fast expressway crossing the roundabout on a flyover, which is why it's such an odd shape. The roundabout is called The Bell, which in time-honoured fashion takes its name from a pub that is now a McDonald's.
