A gantry structure spanning the motorway with electronic signals, blue signs showing a "tiger tail lane drop" where the left lane exits, the right hand two lanes continue ahead and the second lane from the left can go in either direction, and the following text.
Exit destinations: M11 Cambridge, Stansted [Airport symbol]; Harlow, London (N & E) .
Forward destinations: (M20, M23), Chelmsford (A12); Dartford Crossing, Gatwick [Airport symbol] M25 .
Junction number: 27.
The M11 heads away towards East Anglia from here, and also towards Stansted, London's third airport and one of the most distant. With Stansted traffic exiting here, another airport takes its place on the signs - Gatwick makes a first clockwise appearance at this point, even though it's 45 miles, and nearly half a lap of London, until you even get to the exit for it.
