An uninterrupted five-mile run feels like an eternity after the non-stop rush of junctions we've just passed around Heathrow and Staines. This section of M25, from J11 to 10, opened in December 1983 and is notorious for its concrete surface. Be thankful that the Simulator can't simulate the heavy, endless thumping noise made by passing over all the expansion joints.
