The length of M6 we're now on is unbelievably busy, lying between the M5 and M54, but can't be economically widened because - like so much of the motorway network around here - it's all on concrete viaduct. Junction 9 is awkwardly positioned a bit too close to the M5 interchange which doesn't help, and is home to a branch of Ikea.
